That’s why we are excited to share the launch of our Centre of Excellence (CoE) — a dedicated training facility that equips both new hires and long-standing team members with the tools and training they need to deliver consistent, high-quality service across all 500+ of our properties.
Located on the main floor of our Glenmore Gardens Towers property in Calgary, the CoE is where our teams come to learn our standards, refine their skills, and better understand how to support our residents in meaningful, proactive ways.
The goal is simple: improve the experience of our residents by ensuring every Avenue Living employee has the tools, knowledge, and confidence to deliver excellent service, every single day.
Real-World Training That Leads to Real Results
The CoE ensures that every Avenue Living team member, no matter which city or building they’re in, learns the same standards, follows the same processes, and upholds the same expectations.
Training at the CoE goes far beyond basic job responsibilities. It includes real-world, practical learning that reflects the situations our team members regularly encounter. Core training modules cover the full resident journey, including:
- Leasing and renewals
- Move-ins and move-outs
- Suite and building inspections
- Work order and maintenance management
But the training doesn’t stop there. Our teams also learn:
- Active listening techniques, so our residents feel heard and respected
- Time and calendar management strategies to help prioritize resident requests
- Proactive building management, including how to identify and resolve issues before they impact residents
- Community-building and collaboration, with training on how to coordinate with other departments and organize local events
Every training program combines in-person sessions, e-learning, and hands-on practice — all in a real Avenue Living building, so team members can apply what they learn right away in a real-world environment. And because the Centre runs small cohorts of six to eight people at a time, our teams get the chance to learn from one another and ask meaningful questions.

In 2025 to support even more team members and will be launching a Regional Training Partner program. This will give experienced employees the tools to offer peer-to-peer coaching and mentorship within their local markets, creating a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
